Aunty Janelle is the Assistant Tutor with Youth Theatre 1.

In 2010, Janelle was the first among five women to graduate from the Bachelor of Fine Arts programme at UWI Cave Hill with a BFA in Creative Arts with Honours focusing on theatre. She also holds an MA in Creative Arts and a Diploma in Education for Theatre Arts.

Janelle has worn the hat of Actor, Director, Stage Manager and Assistant Costume Mistress in 6 student productions at the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination in Barbados. She has represented Barbados in Carifesta X (Guyana, 2008), Tallawah (Jamaica, 2009), Barbados on the Water Festival (Canada, 2010) and Cuba (2012). She was awarded the prize for Best Female Monologue at Tallawah in 2009.

Janelle completed a triad of Writing, Directing and Acting in her Capstone Thesis 2010; ‘Metamorphosis: the Journey of a Woman as she Eases Dis-ease’.

Janelle enjoys working with children and young people and gives back to the community by shaping the artistry of young dramatist with the National Summer Camp Programme.
