From Actress, to Stage Crew, to Lighting Designer and Stage Manager, Afi has embraced each role with unwavering vigor and commitment.
During her pursuit of an Associate Degree in Theatre Arts at the Barbados Community College, she was cast in Black Fire, The Amen Corner and Ti-Jean and his Brothers. She was also selected as an extra for the film Big Sugar. Afi was later contracted as the Lighting Designer for a piano concert titled “Music of the Heart” which was staged in St. Lucia.
Afi has been involved in various capacities for many productions including: Stage Manager, Sobie (2007); Lighting Designer & Operator, When Hope Smiles (2007); Lighting Designer & Operator, “Ariya” The Israel Lovell Foundation Production (2008); Stage Crew, Going for Love (2008) produced by SAYGE Theatre Company; Stage Manager, Laff-It-Off (2008); Stage Manager, Laff-Like-A-Bajan (2008); Sound Operator, Looking Back At Sodum.
In addition, Afi directed a piece for NIFCA in 2008 titled “Dese Hands,” which was awarded a silver medal for most promising presentation and the Earl Warner Award for “Most Promising Theatre Piece.”
